traction
« on: March 03, 2014, 06:04:42 pm »

hi, after bending everyones ear that will listen iv not been able to find any graupner 900.......there is another supplier of 900's but they arent as powerful.........iv got a 40" tug on its way and i want it silly powered..as much traction as possible...its probably going to end up on twin or tripple korts,60mm ish..what other motor options are there? iv got a mmm lady jan running a t12 motor and although its lovely in this model this motor choice is going to be far to tame for my planned traction tug......

Why not run this on 18v or 24v

Or alternatively run a pair of 90mm props in korts. (In simple terms) power (or "traction") is not governed completely by RPM of the motor but how much water is shifted by the prop per revolution..

Paul's choice is the one to go for.  Both me and Stavros like these.

They pull a treat and are powerful.     %%    %%    %%

Sensorless Brushless motors don't like low revs so you may need a belt drive or gearbox...
