And another short term project hits the dirt
« on: March 05, 2014, 03:45:06 pm »

 >>:-(, well this project has not gone so well, whilst attaching the rotor the motor burnt out, my fault for being impatient.
All the LEDs work and the motor rotated, so now the only thing to do is add the decals and put in storage, again there is video on Youtube under Hasegawa 1:72nd SH-60B Seahawk.

These were my original attempts, all seakings, the Mk2 - not really sure about the royal blue colour, and the Mk4 commando, the other mk2 has its rotors folded.

I like these, great detailing on them, pity the motor burnt out, but that's what happens...live and learn I suppose, still it looked good while it worked. :-))

Actually it didnt rotate very fast, untill it burnt out, compared to the lynx, this rotor was heavier, and it was the epoxy blob that got pushed down too far that created too much resistance, going to be looking at another slightly larger motor, but will have to do some surgery to get access to the wires.

Cut out the plastic bridge that the motors glued to, then try to unsolder the old motor, swapping one lead before disconnecting the other, so I dont loose them as they may retract before I can reconnect them, means putting flying leads on the replacement.

If I can get it to work it will be impressive, and I still have a Seaking to build and to find the others, I know I have an old (Nappy) toy box full of unbuilt kits, including 3 Matchbox sea harriers.
