New V2 38" X-cat
« on: March 08, 2014, 01:19:35 pm »

Hi all
thought id share my latest build ,iv now took my builds in a new direction and have started moulding my design and builds
This 1 is an improved version of the 38" twin outboard cat
The only differences are new tunnel floor design to allow easier install of engine or motor
new wider hatch with added roof vent
Hope you like

I will be setting up the 1st as Nitro .46 (7.5cc)
But ideal for either nitro or electric and the sponson are big enough to easily house twin set up
Engine is ASP .46
Fuel tank in pic is 24oz (750ml) so plenty of room
Plan on doing an 8s single and 6s twin setups in near future
(pics are just to give idea of how much room there is)

Forgot to add the hull is straight out the moulds and hasnt been trimmed or polished up ;)

Started putting this build together
Not how i wanted to run the exhaust ,but then this was never designed originally for IB running ,especially nitro haha
Added layer of CF ,cut trimmed hatch ,mounted transom hardware and positioned everything
Need to make fuel tank mounting plates and FG the stringers in etc so still alot to do but hopefully have it ready and on the water very soon

Thought id post this as been asked what the X-cat runs like and how does it handle
This is the very 1st run on small prop
The running surfaces on the V2 are the same except wider hatch and a slight v added to tunnel to allow easier install of motor or engine
Everything is the same

Mounted the radio box etc and made some base plates for the fuel tanks to sit on,also sorted all the fuel lines and tanks out and now ready to install
Need to epoxy the base plates and the engine stringers in now
