 I really thought these emails had died out, apparently not!.....

Good morning!

You have the penalty for public services.
The certificate is in the attached ZIP-file.
You have to verify it before May 10th 2014. Your account: TQD/36193.
Differently you'll gain legal action.

Faithfully yours, head of Police station #31.

Of course I opened the zip file, infected my computer with a gaziilion malware/viruses/spyware and laid open all my passwords and bank details :D {-)

I got a spam email this week requiring me to appear in court , London.... I hope it was spam!

CAREFUL opening unsolicited email, no matter how genuine they look and especially if;
1. If they don't have your full ( or no name at all )
2. NEVER open attachments.
3. Hover mouse over link to see if they are going to where they say they are going to! ( eg. hover mouse over this link - BBC News - and look at real link in your browser status bar. NB. Link IS safe to click. )

I'd just like to point out that one email is going out at the moment which could catch you out. It's a tax notice and contains a 'form' to fill in - this is actually an executable program within a .ZIP archive.

The address of the sender appears to be genuine - no-reply@hmrc.gov.uk

Don't open it!

 If you have given Her Majesty's Ripoff and Conmen
your email address you deserve nothing less.

I wouldn't like to open genuine ones either, but at least the genuine one won't infect your computer!

A big giveaway on that one was the final line..... mentions a customer service number which is toll free.
