Yes Chancellor
« on: March 20, 2014, 02:08:55 pm »

Since Millionaire Osborne has scattered his largesse to we oiks, I have calculated that while on my way to a marathon Bingo session, I could stop off at the pub, drink 340 pints and, with the penny saving, get No. 350 free.  What splendid times we live in!  :((

Poor devil. I'd only have to drink 250 to get one free. Mind you, I'm glad I don't smoke any more...........Nine quid for twenty Bennies???? You've gotta be daft, haven't you?

Dave,
What a bargain! Give me the address of your pub and I'll get the Roller out and head down to save even more money on ale.  :o

Here you go. I'm in there every Friday afternoon with my mate Irish Dave, playing Waldorf and Statler in the window corner. http://www.bluemonkeybrewery.com/pubs/organ-grinder-nottingham
BTW It's the Batemans XB which is £2.50 a pint. Park the roller down the street opposite for free after 3pm.

Make all the Skeggy holiday makers think
they are still on holiday.
The opposite in Cleethorpes where the pubs sell
York's beer to make the yorkies feel like they are still
at home.  :D :D :D

Dave,
You're on! I accept your kind offer - put 250 pints on the bar and a dozen stilton-topped pork pies and I will see you next Friday.

Barry M

PS I assume there's no problem over providing me and the six brothers (plus wives) with accommodation for the weekend. We want to make the most of your hospitality.

PPS They sell beer in Cleethorpes???

Not only that what about pensions? I've just heard o sky news that you can now decide what YOU want to do with you pension. This has come a little to late!

My wife alongside her normal superannuated pension had invested 30years in avc (additional voluntary contributions) on the understanding she could take whatever she wanted. Roll on 2010 and georgie boy changed the rules- any additional savings had to be invested in an annuity, no ifs no buts. So after lots of investigating she put 30 years of avc's into an annuity in january and gets a paltry £72 a month return on it.

Now what has he done? abandoned the must have annuity, you can have it all as cash if you want! 30 years of cash would have been better to her than 72quid a month. Its just fortunate that with both our superannuated pensions we don't actually have to rely on that £72!

In two years time I can empty my pension pot ......... and spend the lot on playing bingo and saving a small fortune drinking Mr Osborne's health with all those pennies I'll save on every pint :-)) Thanks George.

So those taking their pension pots will have the opportunity to emulate George Best - "what did you spend all your money on George?" " Mainly booze, women and fast cars - the rest I just frittered away!"
