i tried to do a bollard pull today, it got to 8lbs but couldnt give it full throttle because it was pulling the boat hard over to one side.the was a strong cross wind and a slight flow on the canal...what am i doing wrong? or whats up with the boat?

You may be getting what they call 'Prop walk'. Try a longer cable and steering the opposite way.
