I think I prefer the SMT65(128€ shipped), however I always run into trouble making direct bank transfers overseas.
My bank has frustrated two German model shops. One to the point where he stopped emailing me.  {:-{

So I may end up scratch building anyway.

do you have access to Travelex? I've used them a couple of times for bank transfer with no problems.

I cannot tell what the situation with bank transfers originating from a UK account is like.
But in the past I never have encountered any problems in the opposite direction,
i.e. transfer via IBAN / BIC from my Sparkasse account in Germany to an account with a UK bank.

There is a transaction fee on both sides for me it was £ 9 for about £ 150.00....and a seller in germany had a fee of 10 euros...
i think that is a minimum charge on any foreign transaction through

On the photo above the hull's length is exceeding Bill's tallness.
You don't want to dwarf him by implying he is less than 92 cm tall, do you? :D

But 97 € isn't bad for such a hull.

I think at this point, I suspect that Steinhagen has stopped messaging me also.
He didn't answer when I suggested I could use Travelex to send funds.

I know Germany has a great banking system, but it just isn't simple or free in the United states.

Google translator works well enough.
I had read somewhere that his wife had health issues, and she was the English speaker in the house.

If you posted his reply or sent it to me as PM I could translate it for you into English.

I see his bank information on the bottom left corner of the invoice.
I may yet have a chance at success.

Hull on the way from Steinhagen Modelltechnik.

Once a method to send fund was worked out, it was a smooth transaction.
The fee for a wire transfer was 25€-30€ or £15-£24.
Travelex worked out well, despite fees.

Steinhagen has shipped DHL with tracking.

Hello dougal99,

I guess you remember from Calculus the concept of derivatives and how - well, they are derived - by taking the limit.
If so then this simple prove why businessmen earn exceedingly more than engineers will look neat to you.

Ralph

Hull received from Steinhagen Modelltechnik, 1:75 scale.
Very nice, a few little "wows" but nothing that a bit o' bondo can't fix.

 :-))

Though I think I could have gone to 1:50 scale

Hi Umi,

congrats to the newly acquired hull.
Did it come with one or two sheets of the general arrangement plan,
or are you going to build a freelance, kind of generic, trawler design on it?

Regards,
Ralph

There are no plans at all with the boat, I don't know if they were available separately or not.

My goal is a door trawler, modeled after the MFV Aine.
