Has anyone any idea how to....
« on: April 08, 2014, 11:10:17 pm »

Set up this ESC?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6460

Just ordered 2 x swamp dawgs and 2 of these ESC. On both the motor just twitches and I cannot get either to run. I doubt both have faults so I am putting it down to set up. However no amount of googling or reading on the hobby king web site has helped. Tried with a planet and a spectrum, no joy.

Anyone any ideas or experience with these ESCs?

http://www.suppomodel.com/ESC/Simple_options_for_20A30A40A_programming.pdf
  • Constant current 30A
  • Li-Poly 2-3 cells; Ni-MH 4-10 cells Auto Detect
  • Break On/Off; Progarmmable
  • BEC: 2A
  • MAX RPM 20,000 with 2212 Motors
  • Auto Low battery Slow down at 3.0V/cell Lipo, cut-off at 2.9V/cell Lipo
  • dont programm ESC without having motor connected to it!
This is simple ESC , it has only batt type programm and Break On/Off programm. My recomendation: Dont run ESC at 30A and more load without extra heat sink.

this is all i can find for your esc................with mine i had to hold the stick fully forward to enter programe..then all the way back to select..it said in the manual let it go to neutral it took hours to suss it and alot of temper  :embarrassed:    hope this helps

As grace says the stick may need to be brought all the way back rather than centred.

:-)) Get a programming card saves a lot time and temper and so easy to use,I think the first brushless set up took me about a whole day now takes 5 mins, get one for about a tenner, dont forget if your esc does not have a BEC you need a rx battery plugged into card, hope this of some help,Ray. :-)) :-)) :-))

Thanks for the replies but I have tried all of the above and more! I've read all the instructions, entered set up mode a 1000 times, re soldered all the connections, changed the wires round and reversed the transmitter. I've been at it 5 days!

I was after someone who has used this before and knew how to sus it!

Cheers Ryan

:-)) Hi,Ryan, have you checked battery voltage,is the esc's bleeping normally, have you a separate BEC as some esc need a separate BEC, I can't think that 2 esc would be faulty so it must be set up and lastly is battery polarity correct, have you got a meter to check voltage at the esc?hope you get to the bottom of this as it is one I have never come across before anyway let us know how you get on,Ray. :-)) :-))
