PS Having done a few tests the problem of answers appearing in your quote is related to the Firefox need to press the end "A" formatting button.

Hi Martin if I click on the keeping mayhem afloat link it just automatically brings up an email on my laptop? It doesn't take me anywhere on the forum?

Thought so, not just Firefox as I'm on Android now. It's just Martin's posts where it's automatically bubbled when you quote (anything with content from Martin). Not a big hardship to go back and edit though the 30min limit is a strange quirk.

You would think that a company selling an end-of-life product would advise you... especially as I specifically asked in the first place!

No, I kicked up a small fuss and they refunded the renewal straight away so I could buy the correct server.

HostForWeb certainly don't make things easy for you.... same story 98% focus on new business, 1% on existing customers, 1% on customer service.....

I know you have a large file base/database but every time my hosting comes up I check the costs and if I consider it too high I look to change to a new one.

I was with Just Host and it cost me £100 for two years with unlimited bandwidth, databases etc. When the renewal came it was £261.81 for 2yrs, so I let it go as I couldn't be bothered to upload the files etc to a new host at that time. Then the next renewal came in for £392 for 1 yr.

This time I wasn't going to sit back so did some shopping around and got 3yrs hosting for £163 from Hostgator, as I only did it this year I have a while before the renewal comes back again.

I found out after that Just Host & Hostgator are owned by the same company 'Endurance International Group'

What never ceases to amaze me is that if they gave reasonable renewal costs some people just might stay where they are, this goes for all services provided to us, including phones, TV, insurances etc...as the saying goes 50% 0f something is better than 100% of nothing.

Generally due to some of the photos on the forum are hosted by unsecure sites. The forum itself is https and secure but some of the photos come from external sites. Chrome seems to be rather sensitive about this, Firefox less so.Jim
