hmmmm the bit that sticks out here is posting with pictures. Are you making the picture small enough to be accepted?????
if the pics are not small enough then the system will give you an error and not let you post.

I also had a few problems posting pictures yesterday. But they went in the end.

Photos from a camera or phone are usually much too large (several MB). The easiest ways that I have found to convert/make smaller for MS users, without reverting to using 3rd party software, are:
  • open the picture in your computer, then use the snipping tool to capture the part of the image you want to use, then save the capture (I think the default is JPEG).
  • open PowerPoint, import the picture and stretch to fill the slide. Then save as JPEG, save current slide only (when prompted).
In both cases the JPEG should be small enough to upload.

@missyd, if that doesn't fix it, get back to us.

Lets see if Northern Australia, also known as God's country, is affected

No, pic shows all OK but we are upside down and therefore have a different perspective.

Me in Queensland, with Western Australian ISP, on opposite side of the country, west as far as you can go and all working OK.

I have read the message about the new server and the IP adresses and the problems .... but why some members can post in my topic with pictures and I can't?
Two days of trying it and only error messages .... {:-{

What errors are you getting?

The fact is, Danielle could post photos with text on her post, she now can't. Could it be a problem with the new image server (if she is using that?) Personally I haven't used it, the old method of adding attachments is fine for me.

Danielle, I would say take a look at your process, what have you done differently this time that you haven't done before? Have you changed the way you take photo's, different camera, phone etc?

I am getting database error message. Tried 3 times to load from new image site, using WiFi and 4G but no go? Site is also a bit sluggish, ok on anything else I browse. Was all fine before server maintenance?
Sorry to moan Martin.

I sent you 2 pictures as Facebook message .... can't post them into this thread .... I think its a timeout error as it takes always a little longer to post something into the forum...

Whilst I can post and upload images I am no longer getting any email notifications.

Checked that the notify button is activated on this thread, which it is, but no notifications. The unnotify is available.
Has happened in last few days, last one received on 11th December, something's up, or more likely, down????

Some feature of Mayhem may be a bit wobbly for next few days, there was an IP with the new server and it takes time for things to propagate around the Internet, hostname servers, DNS & Nominet etc....  {:-{

Effective from this post I am no longer receiving notifications.
Have checked that the "notify" button has been activated on the threads which it has, but no notifications at all?????

I'm still getting errors, server side.
 I've raised a complaint with the Host company.

Have to admit it is not until something goes amiss, such as no notifications, that you realise how much effort is expended in having Mayhem run smoothly and what a loss it is until all is back to normal. O0 O0

When I PM myself, the message reaches my Mayhem inbox straight away - but I don't get an email from Mayhem telling me there is a new message waiting for me at the forum.

When one of my servers had this problem, outgoing mail was stopped because the smtp server had the wrong details loaded on it. Once Support worked it out, the fix took just moments.
