lipo batterys

hi all
       dont know if this is the right place to post this but here goes
      i have an 3180 kv 4pole motor  (3660) high efficency with a turnigy aquastar 100amp water cooled esc
      what need to know is this.... what lipo batt do i need to run this set to get best run power and run time
      this set up is installed in a 37inch perkasa.......hope somebody out there can help

The motor is wrong for the application, that motor is only suitable for surface drive and 2 cell Lipo or put a 3:1 gearbox and run a 3S.


I would suggest you look for a lower Kv out runner motor in the 36 or 42 mm size somewhere in the order of 500-1000 Kv with an appropriate voltage to achieve 8000-10000 no load RPM

 :-)) Try a Propdrive 42-48 outrunner which is 650kv from hobbyking,which will give about 8,000 rev on 12v battery  more than enough,and you can use your ESC. with a 50m/m 3 blade prop it will fly,hope this of some help,Ray. :-)) :-)) :-))
