is my scratch build model diesel switcher locomotive.. planning to make a garden railroad layout in my house plot.. so is the beginning, with a switcher.. named my model city as Kungoo land.. and the first engine is KUG 01.. the scale, size all to my personal touches.. my intention is to complete all needed systems within very least expense, so everything is scratch.. started with some scraped toy wheels.. to scrapped gear boxes..
i started with tracks.. while considering track, one of my main consideration was the fish plates.. need lots of them.. but must be inexpensive.. so, after a little search came up with wooden ice cream sticks.. 1000 numbers.. about 40 Rs/-.. and each and every one is uniform.. so, now time to think about a base.. as this first track set is intended as a test track, and display track, my idea was to keep it portable.. so a plywood base will warp overnight.. then a thick 6 mm glass is ideal.. so, i started with ice cream sticks and glass.. as base..
now time of rail.. tried aluminum channels.. but all are so big.. so i turned to a plastic reaper, intended for the replacement of wooden reapers to fix glasses on windows.. just a straight cut with my circular saw.. two sides.. forms a rail.. two in to 9 feet in length.. so time for assembly.. the inner thickness is 6 cms, as my convenient scale of work..
starting work on tracks..
