1/24 Perkasa Deck
« on: May 08, 2014, 01:08:05 pm »

Hi All , I would like some advise on fitting the deck to my Perkasa , Does the deck fit inside the hull flush with the top or does it sit ontop of the hull pertruding a bit and what rubbing strip should i use and is it attached to the hull or the deck.
Thanks Dave  :-) :-) :-)

Hi Dave

The way it is usually done is to build a framework within the hull which is level with the top edge. The deck would then sit on top of that, in this way you have something strong to screw and/or glue the deck to. Once that is done the rubbing strip would be fitted, usually these are larger than the deck thickness so leaving an overlap when you cut the deck might not look right. If you find it will not easily curve at the bow you can cut nicks into it to make it easy to bend, then fill the nicks. See;
