Hello from Paris
« on: May 27, 2014, 02:33:57 pm »

Hi everyone,

I live near Paris and I'm going back to model boats after a few years off. I've resumed work on a Robbe Odin kit I also have a Proboat Blackjack 29 fast-electric cat. And a small springer tug.

I'm also a member on modeltugforum.com (same nick). I'll re-post the build logs for my Odin and my springer here.

Trying to get my springer ready by Saturday. There's the "Bateaux en fête" event ("Boat fest" ?  {-) ) in Massy, 20km from Paris this weekend. And my springer is missing a wheelhouse. One is being 3D printed as we speak. I hope it will turn out better than my previous print. ABS is very tricky to print.

I've just upgraded the prop on my springer to be ready for you tow. More blade surface, slightly larger diameter but same pitch (actually a tiny bit less pitch).

My 3D printer experienced some parts breakage. I'm working on an interim wheelhouse with previous "prototype" wheelhouses leftovers.

And quickly put together a new hatch to hold the Gopro in order to film stuff at the pond.

Will film onboard with a GoPro and I'll take my tripod and camera. The night sail should look nice.
