i recently got two homelite trimmers rather that macking a water propped boat i opted to make an air boat as i thought it would be cheaper and simpler here are the pics so far.

very interesting concept, ive seen a cpl of builds using twins and even one that ran two engines back to back .thats one as a puller and the other a pusher , not sure how well it will work but i cant wait to see how she goes.heres a very usefull build thread for you check it out.

Looks like a very interesting build and its coming on nicely, just a thought its going to be very hard to get both engines to run similar rpm together then again ive never seen a twin engined airboat either.

I would think that independant engines would assist in turning such a beast

And like a hovercraft to stop it you will have to 'about turn' quickly

something I was never very good at !

Don't know whether you have thought about some bracing as they are big motors to stop the mounts moving sideways and breaking the joints. just a thought , anyway you could use piano wire to brace. not a very good drawring

I remembered you were making some model props previously....how did they turn out?

Why not just try it with one engine at first..get that running well and then make model Mk II with two engines...

just got an email back from a seller on ebay who i asked to Price up the prop hubs in the picks it came to £30 + vat + postage is that a bit steep ??? ???

more pics just need the 2 new props and petrollines what shud i use becuse the petrol makes the silicone tube go spongy and weard and the thinest plastic tubing at b&Q is to thick ive herd of tygon tubing but wher do i get it from ?

Have you tried a lawn mower shop or even a motorcycle shop.
Some bikes still use plastic fuel lines.

It is very flexible when warmed in a bowl of very hot water.

Please tell me your not going to run that boat with the servos exposed like that? airboats flip believe me i have one and when you flip thats the end of your expensive servos and any other electrics that arent in a water tight box.you need tygon fuel line for petrol motors the stuff from the mower shop tends to go hard and brittle after a while.heres a link to tygon tube.

thanks its a bit expensive but oh well. as for the servos i usually take them apart and put more white grease in the gears and i coat the out side in epoxy and i cut a slice of fuel tube and put it under the servo horn. some of my boats have been flipped along time and the servos have been fine.

dont use grease it doesnt work best thing to use is corosion x or similar from any motorcycle shop,simply spray the insides of your servos and rx and all plugs etc and 100% waterproof even in salt water

the battery's in the video cam wend flat and stooped after a couple seconds i need to repair it after hitting a band make a way to stop the engines and make the rudders bigger anyone now any bigger places around plymouth for model boats plymouth

Sounds awesome ,just set the throttle so you can cut the engines with the throttle servo from the radio.if your not intending to run on land extend the rudders into the water a bit that will help steering a lot !!
