Hi All

Is the Waverider 30"(710 mm) as I think I bought one yesterday which was setup with a Johnson 888 rudder set runner.

Hi All
After looking at all the pics, yes I have a Waverider!!!

Lookout if I hit another boat as I installed a 3648-1450kv brushless motor 1600Watts on 6S.
I am going to use 3S to start with and may go to 4S !!!

Hi All
Decided to install a 2836-1800kv on 3S with a 3blade 30mm prop.
Using the boat to test motors and props.
Finished to boat today and dry tested the setup.

Hi there.
I'm new to the forum, so have little idea how things work.
But .. I do have set of Waverider plans and I got here as Google said that you were looking for a set - I also still have the Waverider (that I built when I was 11 or 12 I think..)
Are you still interested in a copy?
Cheers all.

The first Rc boat i had was the Norstar Wave crest, 1975, followed by the crash tender. They were good solid kits but i seem to remember it taking ages to file the chamfer on the keel. I had a Johnson 605 motor and a 6v lead acid motor bike battery to power it and Waltron 2 channel radio gear. Happy Days!

I had a Waverider in the mid 70s, but I had an Enya .19 in mine and it went like no tomorrow!  :-))

I ran it across Swanage Bay to the Old Harry Rocks, driving it from a chase boat, and the Waverider was faster than the chase boat.  :-)

Somewhere I've still got that Enya.

Prompted by the plans request, I got my old Waverider out again last weekend. It had had a midlife upgrade about 10 years ago - the old (unsilenced) Frog150 had come out and a (silenced) Merco35 had gone in. It currently has a X45 prop on it.
Last weekend after some fettling it managed about 21mph (real speed) which looked pretty fast but is probably quite slow for a fast model boat. But I have no idea really.

So... can anyone help me with....
a) What real speed a Waverider should be able to achieve (mine porpoised very badly at full throttle with the Merco and so I have had to fit some aluminium 'trim tabs' to the transom to get it run flat)?
b) what prop should I have on an old Merco35? From the sound track, the engine is turning just under 10,000rpm (9960rpm as per spectrogram on audio track) which suggests a smaller diameter prop is required.
