New D class 48" Mono
« on: June 30, 2014, 11:14:57 am »

Here is another 1 of my builds 48" mono all done and ready for testing and racing  :-)) :-))
setup is standard zenoah utilising the WTC V2 manifold which brings the exhaust closer for better tune but also to comply with exhaust coverage ruling,exposed exhaust is 50mm so well with in the limits
Be interesting to see how it runs and competes will also get vids for those who cant make it to the races ;)

Hi Daz

Thank you for sharing these superb photos which show yet another beautifully finished boat from you.
I reckon those hull rails will give your boat a lot of lift! I love the way you have moulded the hatch to match the pipe angle as it looks superb and so very bespoke. My only concern or question in respect of the angled pipe cover section is whether  when running  very fast,  it might upset the aerodynamics of the boat?

Having said that, please bear in mind that you know infinitely more about design than I do!

I will look forward to your updates :-))

Hi Craig
Thanks mate i try to build my latest hulls to comply with BMPRS rules and make it easier to set up as this is where i do 99% of my running now
built it more for fun running than an all out racer so see how it goes once wet  :}
The strakes are not as big as they look as youll see when we next meet up at kingsbury  :-))
As for the pipe cover shouldnt effect the aerodynamics too much if at all
 :-))

Thanks  Garry

i tried 105* and 90* headers but the pipe would make the cowl alot bulkier cos of the taper on pipes we run
Will see how it runs for now and go from there theres always room for development and improvements as we go along hehe
