Next Model?
« on: July 22, 2014, 07:52:19 pm »

Just for a little light hearted relief lets list what we are all going to have on the slipway next, or even what you would like to build given the chance.

I have two, the main one being a cutter to with my fishing smack and for even more light hearted relief-- The Black Pig!

For those not in the know, the Black Pig was Captian Pugwash's ship from the 50/60's tv series. In true cartoon fashion I will build it in card and it will be a facsimile of the original with all its mis-shapes.

Over to you all, what are your builds.

i think ive already got enough future projects to keep me occupied ! currently fighting on my biulding bench theres a 2014 joysway dragon force being repainted , a gruapner collie being restored & having modern radio fitted along with new sails , plus a fishing smack that im altering with a new mast and lighter sails to improve it sailing ability . then theres a few more that are receiving " the finishing touches " etc . two complete builds plus  a fairey huntsman 31 & spear   waiting for new ballraced propshafts !  jon

I am currently Working on my Trawler yacht, but my son is getting interested in a Springer, so that should only require guidance and encouragement on my part (he's 13 and pretty handy).  If he goes for it, I will see if he wants to join, and do a build log.  After the Trawler, my wife wants to scratch build a different yacht with me, and I have a 35 year old tug my Dad and I made (first model boat, mostly my Dad's work) that has survived decades of storage, but could use a refit.  If only I can remember where I put the tug. :embarrassed:   Might even have the barge that goes with it, which was my first solo scratchbuild.

Unfortunately none of my other boats survived, but that's OK, just leaves more room for new boats.

We can all dream, Neil. {-)

We are away in our caravan at present, in the central highlands of Queensland, about 1100 km from home, but when I do get home, on 12th September, I will be starting a Vintage Gentleman's Cruiser, from a design by Paul Thomason. I like the look of it and it suits my style of leisurely sailing. It should also complement my Norfolk Broads cruiser and my Grand Banks pleasure cruiser. I haven't done any real model building for a couple of years, so I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of it.

Just about to start a Pilot Boat from old plans. Not designed for RC, but I think I can fit it in.
