Earlier thisarvo the pair of them flew right slap bang over our block of flats, at very low altitude, whilst pulling a tight turn to port. The sight of them and the sound of eight Merlins at full chat was absolutely awesome, something I don't think I'll ever have the chance of repeating.

Just picked up on this thread. We had the BBF lanc at Brize many moons ago, big heavy bomber, parked next to a Laker (said it was many moons ago) DC10. Looked like a toy, how times change our perception.

Martin, just had a call from Colin B. He was buzzed by the Lancs and couldn't believe his eyes. Checked with me to ensure he wasn't in a time warp! Said he could hear them coming for ages and the sound - wonderful.

Hope they come this way soon, we must be on the route Coningsby - Duxford.

Both Lancasters plus Spitfire and Hurricane escort seen at Airbourne Show 14th August. I wish I had a better camera at the time but won't forget the sight or sound.

Also some younger types who followed on.

If I recall correctly, the commentator said that they can carry 10 mins of white smoke but only 2 mins of red and blue. Somebody must have forgotten to fill up.

I was watching them taking off and landing at manston a few years back, and one of them broke off of the display and came back and landed with Brown smoke. it was still there a week later until they had repaired whatever had gone wrong.

Just come back from the RAF Marham Friends & Families Day and WOW!!!
We had a real rare treat for us and most of didn't know what was going to happen until it happened at 1414hrs!
Just look at what appeared from the North East of RAF Marham...

This isn't a very good photo-shopped images either because I'm rubbish at them!
Three Avro built British Bombers, apparently they'll never fly together quite like this again, the timings for such an event were so close they weren't truly sure whether it would happen!

And I got to see the future of RAF Marham too, unfortunately not a real one but a very good simulator model of the JSF Lightning II.

The three have been to Lincoln to overfly the site for the new Bomber Command memorial.
Fantastic sight.

I'm not exactly sure what they're doing, but do any of you know whether they will be coming near Wales at all, namley Gloucestershire?

I have been lucky with the Lanc before - this time last year, I was down my local railway helping out with that little blue thing with a face, and the BBMF Lancaster flew over - incredible sight...

This is the site you need, gives all details of where and times for the Lancasters. Can even get on the radar tracking (When it is flying) to see if it heading in your direction. Hope they are going your way.

Should have also said that there is a full listing on the BBMF site. My local event (Little Gransden) has become ticket only and all sold out by Thursday/Friday no payment on the gate. <:( >:-o >:-o
