Frank from West Michigan, USA
« on: August 15, 2014, 04:40:57 am »

     Hello,
I have been a member here for a while and thought I would post some photos of my most recent project.

I got back into the hobby a couple of years ago by ordering some hulls from Fleetscale out of the UK.  I finished one of the projects and before I moved on to the second, I got the urge to try something from scratch.

This is my copy of the USS Enterprise.  I was aiming for a look close to operation sea orbit.  She is 1/144 scale and while not museum quality, I am pretty happy how she turned out.
Feed back would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Frank Verburg

Looks good, but where do you keep it when it's not filling up the living room?

Thank you for the kind words.

joppyuk1, for some reason I am being discouraged from keeping it in the middle of the living room.  I have a spare bedroom that I use as a home office that I will keep the Enterprise in.

Tug---Kenny, I haven't ballasted the model yet,but just from construction, she really isn't that heavy.  When I move the model around, my concern is dealing with the length.

Perkasaman and Mark w  Thank you for the kind words and the welcome.

I'm off to get some batteries this afternoon.

Regards,

Frank

Hi Franks   Welcome impressive  Big E  you have there ,  much prefer your  first generation bill board island superstructure always looked futuristic . Even at 1:144 it must be a monster . there are  carrier model builders   here in the UK  that divide the hull into  two parts  to make transport less stressful.  :-)) :-)) :-))

That is one impressive flat top Frank! Seeing all those aircraft goes to show, like Stan's efforts, that aircraft carriers give you many interesting planes to build paint and fit, including tail markings etc!
