Allo...Allo?
« on: August 19, 2014, 09:30:00 pm »

:-) A warm Hello to all. I am a new member asking permission to come aboard? ok2
I have a special interest in Small Working Boats & Grey Funnel line Boats of the late 20th Century ...& almost any craft that prefers to float!

I have recently saved a Speedline Tamar 1:12 Scale from the local Recycling Centre Compactor, & I am currently stripping it down to begin a restoration of it. So I suppose I will be starting the Hobby with a Lifeboat Model, that only just fits in the bath!

Talk about start at the deep end, Ha ha.

So that is a little about me,...over to you chaps. :-))

Regards to all,

John

Hi John,
I remember Gleaner with her extended stern and "trawling engine".

Welcome John.
Were you a surveyor in a previous life?
I spent 5 years on Woodlark and Echo back in the 70's

:-) A big thank you to all that have welcomed me to this Forum :-))

I shall of course post some Photos in due course & as I go along, but at the moment I am wondering whether to restore the Tamar as a serving Lifeboat, or, just to be different, whether to convert her to the FSB2 Prototype Tamar craft, which by definition is not so common. I am looking forward to receiving any advice that is offered.

Thanks again,

Regards,
John
