I do find I'm getting clumsier, presumably with age. I'll go to do something and miss, or pick something up and fumble it - nothing dreadful (so far) but it happens much more often than say 10 years ago. I can even turn round and smack my face on a door-frame - never used to be able to do that.
So I try not to multi-task. Eg if I'm getting a mug out of the cupboard I try to get it out, put it down (not necessarily let go of it), close the door, lift the mug, turn round, etc. A bit like a robot.
Same with sharps on the bench. I try to actually think about each action and keep them separate. Try to be fluid or impressive ... uh, oh! It's only me in there, so no point in trying to impress anyone else with my lack of swordsmanship.
