What bank holiday?
« on: August 24, 2014, 04:37:04 pm »

:o I set out this morning for the lake at 9 AM a journey of about 18 miles (about 40 mins-45 mins) not a soul on the road, usually I get a bit of traffic but not today, has everyone gone away or just stayed in bed I wonder?, I like to get there early so I can have breakfast in cafe with the boys but that was nearly empty, has everybody given up golf as well, years ago we would not go out on a bank holiday because of the traffic seems all that has changed now,has anybody noticed this as well?,Ray. :o

Weather predicting nine forms of doom, sink hole open up in County Durham, big earthquake in Northern California, volcano going up in Iceland . . .   Could be the end of the world ?

No chance,

I'm absolutely certain that the day the mrs lets me use the indoor spare room as my workshop will be the day the world ends.

Living here by the seaside I took my little one for a walk along the beach this morning. Good job we got there early, by 0930 every single car park in Hastings was full and there were queues to get in.

Not really that strange when you think about it with the extra days holiday....  We went to Haydock on Friday & it took 4 1/2 hours to get there, came home this evening & the same distance covered in just over 2 hours..

Try the same trip tomorrow..

And here it is - wall-to-wall rain. Good old reliable August Bank Holiday! Excellent modelling weather; I've a plank-on-frame hull to rub down. To top off the tedium, I bet the cricket's either delayed or rained off.  <:(
