Well, I spoke to Ron at the Shepton show about the plating procedure and his description was a lot easier to do than I had expected, but the hull plug needs some smoothing in places so that any dips and raised areas do not show through the plate detail.
The Copper sheathing applied to ships of this period (up to the early twentieth century in fact due to the lack of a decent anti fouling paint) is flush plated and not overlapping as I assumed, so again this will make life easier.
But, I felt I wanted to express something along to get sailing and so concentrated on my HMS Ready for a while until a wargames terrain project loomed, and so both are currently in abeyance until later in July.
I will get back on the job soon.
