for any torpedo boat enthusiasts, You might be interested that MTB 102 sailed up the thames yesterday, headed for a classic boat event in st Katherines dock this weekend (London).

What is the law regarding engines these days? I recall a chap restoring the RAF rescue boat '2597' back in the early ninties saying that petrol engines had to be replaced or modified to run on diesel due to explosion risks caused by large quantities of petroleum.

She now has 2 600 hp diesels replacing the original 3 1100Hp engines.

Wonderful information, thanks for sharing the link Grendel. I know I harp on about the lack of a preserved RN battle ship, but it is brilliant that we have vessels like 102 about still especially with such history, equalling and bettering the history of some of our battlebarges:O)

The guys made a video of their trip and time at st Katherines dock, I have to say the sound of those engines is really nice. even with less horsepower she can still make over 25 knots.
