Advice on how to bind Tx and RX
« on: September 21, 2014, 10:41:51 pm »

Hi all
I have a Spektrum DX5e DSM2 Tx with a ORX R615x SSM2/DSMX Rx. Can anyone tell me how to bind these two together? A bind plug was supplied with the Rx which I am told I have to use. Which plugs go in which sockets on the Rx. Intend to use the main battery as power for RX and ESC so which socket does the ESC plug go into. If there was a smillie for someone scratching their head I would use it.
Probably been asked these questions before but could not find it on the forum after scouring ten pages.
Thanks to all in anticipation of your answers.

Many thanks, that has simplified it a lot for me as well.

Cheers,

Thanks kiz
Part of the questions answered and I did go on the link you sent. Also found another video about the Orange Rx. Still no answer to some of the questions I asked. Still hoping someone will answer them.

I use orange receivers all the time on my Spektrum.

What you are asking , i believe,  is  which toggle on the transmitter operates which channel.

The answer is to follow the film shown above BUT when you plug the servo into each socket separately,  make a note of which toggle and which direction it operates.  Most sets differ in this so you have make a separate chart for your version.

for example.................  left toggle up might be channel 1
left toggle down might be channel 4

Just guessing the numbers to show you the idea, but write it down and stick it on the back of the R/X

Hope this helps

Ken

If you are going to use an RX battery then that goes into the first pin Batt/Bind, throttle is next then the rudder servo to Aile. To be honest you could connect the battery to any of the spare pins and it would work.
If you are going to use the main battery connected to the speed controller, the speed controller is then connected to the throttle pins the rudder servo is then connected to Aile this is just for standard 2 channel, I don’t use Orange RX’s but they look the same as my spektrum stuff.

To bind the rx you will need the bind plug in the bind/batt
position so battery connection can use any spare pins.
Once bound the battery can be connected to the correct pins.

My thanks to Tug and Kiz.
The picture of the Orange receiver was a very great help. The video also helped, (a different one to the other one I watched).
Hopefully I can now get the boat on the water at the weekend.
Cheers.
