bow thrusters info reqd
« on: September 22, 2014, 07:44:14 am »

I have a graupner Sydney Star part started in my shed. Whats stopping me is I want to add bow thrusters. Since Graupner went bust its difficult to get a pair of them. so the question is what other manufacturers are out there and does anyone have any experience of them. the version I require are graupner 1785.
I have been told Robosech are very noisy
graupner no stock or on ebay at ludicrous prices
robbe no stock again and maintenance issues (locking nut on bottom)
so if anyone has any info on any of the above or alternatives it would be much appreciated.

before anyone says I have looked on ebay germany, france, spain Italy etc. 'Im surprised a lot of them will not post to uk especially private sellers

I've got a graupner unit and a rabousch unit in different boats and they both are relatively noisy.

Westbourne models should stock them.

I wouldn't worry about the noise, Before I retired I worked on and sailed full size boats with bow thrusters and one thing they all had in common was the noise they make.  ok2
