Hi All
can any one if there is any difference in deck fitting between HMS Kelly and HMS kimberley

Kelly was laid down about 9 months earlier at Hawthorn Leslies on the Tyne whilst Kimberley was built
at J.I. Thornycroft at Woolston - that almost guarantees they will have different deck fittings - nowadays
they all come out as the computer decides, but  prior to computors the advance parties to the ships would see
a better way of doing something and for a couple of hundred duty frees the dockyard matey would fit
it where you want it and not where the plans state. We did that several times on Juno when she was in
build at Vosper Thornycroft consequently we got a brilliant ship.
 Ships I served on all were completely different to their sister ships though they should have been identical.
You need to get as many photos of the one you are building to get the accuracy you are after

Kimberly survived the war scrap in 49`..
 
 There are sets of plans which says also builds and names sister ships.  You will have to  get some pics and books and try and go for a time date of how the ship looked as lots of changes were made during their careers.
