What about another Victorian Battleship review? How many can we get this time with perhaps some proper formation sailing if the wind isn't hurricane strength like last time!

Too early to be certain but I could bring Canopus and Lord Nelson again. Any other takers?

Cheers

Geoff

Yes please, I'm joining in with my hopefully soon to be complete HMS Prince George (well almost!!!). :-))
If we can get more for next year it'll look spectacular, my dad is sorting out a proposed device for holding the ships in a formation until we are ready to sail away.

On another note I'm in the process of designing a straight runner and building it over X-mas- so here is a challenge to all out there- once we've finished finalising the design, who wants to challenge me to a game of straight running with Phil? Further info when we finalise everything.
I think the crazier the better- like the springers we all built all those years ago! :}

Oh and I'm re-arming my springer in preparation for the proposed football match/tug of war- all I'm going to say is 'Players Ready...Robots ready...Fight!!!'. %)

Have you guys considered some "how to masterclasses"?

I notice from the list of usual suspects ahem attendes, there are several members with high levels of skills in several areas.

For example Stavros could do a practical demonstration on filling and painting and another could do one on electronics, soldering etc.

2012 Warwick show.
I was doing some modelling and trying to be clever, was talking to a member of the public at the same time about the Hachette Bismarck on our stand (its my model!). Well as I was cutting the styrene, my hand slipped, and the inevitable happened. I cut through the top of my finger, quite deeply. I staunched the blood with some cloth and went to the toilet to rinse under the tap. The bleeding stopped, I wrapped it in toilet roll, and proceeded to go find the first aid station. On the way i stopped at Blackheath stand, where Stavros was yakking. I said some pleasantries and walked up to the girl on the door. held up my finger to show the makeshift bandage, At this moment Stavros ran up hit my finger so he could take a picture of my finger which was now pooring with blood again and the poor girl nearly feinted! Stavros got the picture he wanted though!
In 2013 a few weeks before Warwick, our club received a lovely letter from the organisers about the event, in it was a paragraph from Chris at Meridienne asking that a certain member of the club not be allowed to model with any sharp objects!!!

Just a thought Nick ……. you had in interesting vessel in my 'Speciality Slot' at the International Model Boat Show a few weeks ago ….. how about we drop bombs on it !!!!!

Being serious for a mo well ……. I do like the idea of a mass sailing session at an agreed time …… it would look great for the camera's. Or what about a massive towing session ……. has anyone got a very powerful tug that we could attach increasing numbers of boats to and watch it pull them along like a huge boating snake.

Or being completely radical ….. how about some sunshine and calm weather. Yeah, ok don't shout I know I'm dreaming.
Steve.

Hi Everyone …… just thinking out loud here. If we go for a mass sailing session just be mindful that around 40 models on 2.4ghz is about the max before interference is a possibility, especially for el cheapo sets. We need some folk to be on 27 and 40Mhz.

Last night I posted a note up the chimney to santa man with Martin's name on it asking for a glorious weather in May. Ho, Ho, Ho  %%
