Hi Lads

I just thought I would say something since I'm the liaison between the Mayhem forum and Wicksteed Park.

Both sides of the arguement are valid...

As Stavros says the park forbids the use of fireworks in the park- and quite rightly so to prevent just anyone setting off a private display in the parks ground which would disturb not only the neighbours of the park and general public and the campers using the park- but we do have permission to use a pyro display that was similiar to last years model boat battle scene.

On the other hand, as Ian says he has the insurance and certificates and experience to put on a much bigger show (thats not in any doubt) but it would need as he says too the parks permission to do so. Thats something he is better at organising that I would but considering that its only 3 months away to the show so its something we may have to plan for in 2016. The biggest problem is getting permission from the local council with regards to fire regs, etc.

Don't want members who are friends falling out over this.

On another note, thanks to everyone so far for the tents and caravan count.

All being well, I fully intend to be there this year.

Few questions:

(a) what's the disabled access like? I need to park near to the water because I don't walk/breathe too good, and the Akula is bl**dy heavy.
(b) can I bring my Akula with operational torpedoes?
(c) can I bring my ladyfriend? (she doesn't do cooking, but she can(will)show a few of you a clean pair of heels when it comes to sinking a bottle or six of red wine).
(d) can I bring my Motaflote? (if it's finished)
(e) can I bring a few cans of Stella(Cidre, of course...)and a cask of red wine for the ladyfriend.

rich disabled access is great. It's all flat. With parking close to the pond. Bring a wheelchair. I'll happily push you.
Akula is fine. Don't know about the torpedoes tho. And I'll help you get it in the water mate.

Richard the answer is yes to all your questions. I can help with the carrying if no one else will. But it's mayhem so everyone else will! If you are staying over I'm sure someone can recommend a nearby berthing place. Bbq is Saturday night.

Aww, thanks guys...I'm not that bad that I need a wheelchair just yet, but walking with a stick with an Akula under the other arm is a bit dodgy, and the ladyfriend would be able to carry it, even if I thrashed her...

We'll be moored up in a TravelLodge I guess, that's her department, not mine...I just pay the bill.

lol . this is exactly my point ! ... i was out with you klunk .... i almost killed 3 pizza guys . who did god knows what to my food .... then forced a taxi driver to drive me less than a hundred yards to my hotel ! .... not to mention earlier in the night . you making me stand on a pool table in probably the most english pub i have ever been in . and singing the welsh national anthem !!!!

altho to be fair tho . that was one of the best nights i had for a while . even the english mob who wanted to kill me ~BECAUSE OF YOU ! started chanting and joined in witht eh singine and games !
