Component Shop/Post Office
« on: October 30, 2014, 10:51:59 am »

How do they do it? I called the Component Shop yesterday about midday ish, and asked about having an awkward sized lipo battery made up for the Long Tail boat, with an odd plug fitted to it. The guy I spoke to was very helpful, he agreed they could do it, so I paid for it, and sat back to await delivery.

Just after eight o clock this morning, the doorbell rang, postperson (very pc... ;D ) handed me a bag containing my battery. How the heck do they do it...do they have supercharged carrier pigeons in Wales?

Component Shop...I salute you, and the much maligned Post Office for getting it here so quickly.

Curious how it was able to come by post - I understood LiPos were banned by Royal Mail. I got a quote from CS for one and the only postage option was via courier at a cost of 50% of the battery so will wait until the Leamington show to buy.

Sorry, my error...it was sent by PO courier service. At least, I think that's who it was...never took that much notice.

I live 30 miles from ComponentShop, who always post items out to me the same day.

By courier it is delivered next day, but by First Class post it always takes exactly 2 days, even though we both share the same postal sorting depot at Chester.

Iain and his team at CS are right up there with the best retailers:-  product range, prices, stock and knowledge.

Hear, hear!  Yes, LiPos come by courier but that isn't a lot more than 1st class post (and somewhat more prompt!)

Excellent team, always excellent service and prices, and too boot friendly and helpful face to face when I've dealt with them at shows too.

Highly recommended!!
