I had one of those the other day.....bounced it back and deleted as I hadn't a clue as to who the person was that was mailing me............what is it supposed to do.

It is part of a phishing expedition.  (Google "phishing").  Clicking the link will route you via the bad guys server, where they can collect information about you for fun and profit, with the emphasis on profit.
