Well, I figured that a brief kit review might be in order to start things off. The kit was purchased from BlueJackets Shipcrafters here in the U.S. Very typical of the top quality and accuracy of the kits found at BlueJackets, I have never found them to be a bad experience. The Gearing has been well researched by Al Ross and the accuracy of the model can be trusted built straight from the kit as carefully as possible. The scale means parts are very small, so a good degree of modeling skill is required, plus a steady hand. The kit contains the following: machine carved basswood hull, Laser-cut wood parts, Britannia metal fittings (take note, that these metal fittings are not numbered, so a CD with 104 close up pictures of each part and assembly is labled and provided), Cast resin parts, Photoetched brass details (ladders, railing, etc.), 4 sheets of full size plans, very complete instruction manual with pictures.
I will post pictures for clarity separately,
Dennis
