Starting Out in Z Class
« on: July 18, 2007, 12:18:15 am »

Hi All
Whilst on hols I came across Model boats and having read from cover to cover was really taken with offshore side of model boating  :)
Now comes the Q's and I hope some answers,  ???
I have done some research (via the net) and I am trying to keep expenses down as much as poss .But (there is aways a But) I am having trouble keeping to the cost of around £160.00 as touted,is it possible ?
Now I know most of you guys may have spent that on an engine alone, but I am trying to get my new hobby started under the watchful radar of the one I love ;D. Some pointers  would be gratefully received.

Hello Roy,

have a look at this web site, there are contacts and lots of advice there:

 http://www.omra-uk.org/index2.htm

Also some boats for sale which might well be a good way to get into racing.

The best thing to do is to join your local club, the hardest part of racing is the setting up.

Hi. Good luck. Hiding in the shed sure upsets her in doors. I got out of getting the Christmas dec down today by going boating and hiding in the shed afterwards. As for the money Simon is correct DON'T TELL HER.
