Shed Alarm (not!)
« on: November 21, 2014, 10:11:53 pm »

I needed a simple wireless shed alarm, bought one on good ol' Fleabay.

OK it was a full "Wireless House Alarm" for £30 delivered, so not excepting bank level security,
apart from no backup battery of any kind, ( & did come with UK plug ), see if you can spot any design flaws ....

My house alarm is very similar but without the line sockets for the 'wired' phone system %% Mine however has a sim card slot so that it  can send text and recorded messages to my mobile. The fact it has an external powercord in my instance is no problem as it has inbuilt 24 hour battery backup.

That siren though is not very loud unless you are in a confined space. Ours is in the hallway and is very loud. We also have one attached outside to the utility room door and that soundsl like a guinea pig squeaking in the open air!

 ok2Martin

You buy a product 30 £, you have it for 30 £, it is logical!

Hide the power plant and the siren, make that nobody can reach the siren, the siren makes so much noise as we do not know where from comes the noise.

My system costs 3200 £ there are very visible devices, siren revolving light outside to inform the thieves and about invisible systems, impossible to neutralize.

But one day I would have the visit of thieves, it is the life ...................

The solution:
Three big well raised dogs and a crossbow with very sharp arrows O0 {-)
