Really Really Useful Box
« on: November 25, 2014, 01:35:50 pm »

I noticed these 'Really Useful Box' boxes today in the local Homebase. The sizing has obviously been aimed at storing an xmas tree, but I immediately thought of .................no prizes for guessing !
I measured the INTERNAL dimensions and conservatively they are - 113cm long x 23cm width x 33cm depth.  The 33cm depth is made up of 28cm in the bottom part plus another available 5cm in the lid.
So if want a ready made strong storage box for a model that fits grab yourself a 77litre 'Really Useful Box'.
Homebase price today was £24.99....................grab one before everyone wants to store their Crimbo tree and baubles again !!

Very handy. I have been using one since last year to transport built up models, mostly Sci-Fi, Monsters and RC Tanks. Very useful indeed. When I get to the event it is usually press ganged into use as a stacked display shelf with a bit of cloth over it. My boats are all too big though :((
Highly recommended...

Looks like the same item is for sale in B & Q (they are part of the same group!)

I thought Homebase is Home Retail Group with Argos and BQ is Kingfisher Group with Brico Depot.!

I believe you are correct boneash. I know homebase and argos are same group. Don't think B&Q have any ties with them, Just sell the same sorta products.

My Mistake - perhaps I got Argos and B & Q mixed up !  %%

I don't go into B & Q that often, but I am sure I saw the same item in there
probably as a Christmas Promo.

Can anybody else confirm? Bridlington B & Q - boxes stacked opposite the tills....

Seems to me they would have another use - as a test tank. It would be particularly useful as you could see through the sides, which you can't do in the bath %%

Would make a very good test tank...depends if its Argos or B&Q though...might have to use different water :}
