« on: December 07, 2014, 04:35:46 pm »

hi
any one built a avon alaw ?
was thinking of building one
or maybe buying one part built
what hull did you use
think it would make a nice towing tug with the right motor
any one built one with single motor and  steerable mort nozzle??

Hi Deepstar  I have added some photos of the afon,  the hull you can get from mobile marine models,  the tugs in the photos
are twin screw with bow thruster fitted,  one built in Glasgow  a member of Glasgow Richmond Club the other just down the road
in Yorkshire Balne Moor m.b.c.  I don't know if you are into towing but this hull lends it's self to twin screw this is only my opinion.

   Regards

   John
PS   Both these tugs are fitted with bow thrusters, hope this is some help.
