Trawler "Vascama"
« on: December 18, 2014, 06:50:54 pm »

I guess it's a long shot, but does anyone have any detailed photos of the Grimsby trawler "Vascama"?  She was a Letten Brothers vessel operating under the company name Atlas Steam Fishing Co.

I have found some photos on web sites, but there is not much detail and all show her in her post Navy service refit as GY147.

My Grandfather served as ship's cook on her maiden voyage in around 1935 and up to her being requisitioned as an Anti Submarine vessel, so I'm looking to make a model of her as she was then with her original port number of GY164.

I have discovered that North Yorkshire County Archive Service have some original drawings, but I'm not sure how helpful these would be.

Thanks in anticipation.

Michael.
