Chichester Ship Canal - Canal Cruise
« on: December 26, 2014, 02:02:01 am »

Good day all..... That time again

By popular demand by those whove already tackled the cruise a couple of times, were going again very shortly, as previous events were aiming to be leaving the main wharf basin at 12:00hrs to proceed towards the Hunston bridge

The cruise is open to all electric / sail / steam powered models,  but unfortunately not ic powered models, participants follow there model on the tow path which is wheelchair friendly for those who aren't able to walk the whole course .

I have attached the event poster bellow.

If you need the address to the event please CLICK HERE

Thanks.
Adam

To avoid conflict with the canal basin people ( cafe and cruise boats ) and to avoid using up all their parking spaces, we are setting off from 'the turn' at Hunston this year. Heading in the direction of Chichester Marina, about 3/4 of a mile. Turning round and returning to the turn. Then setting off north towards Chichester, under the A27, turning back at the old swing bridge just south of the marina, then heading back to Hunston. This part is about a mile and a half each way.
We will have a rescue boat with us for the run, provided by the Chichester crowd, while we will have our walkie talkies from the Portsmouth Display Team, just in case any stragglers get into trouble!!
Arriving at Hunston for about 11am, setting off at 12, the run should take about two and a bit hours. We have been informed that come hell or high water the run goes ahead, so waterproofs and bread bags for the Tx's at the ready!!!
