Car seat electric motors
« on: January 22, 2015, 03:25:42 pm »

 Hi everyone,
Has anybody ever tried using one of these motors? I have been given a couple of them and as I understand it they run on 12volts but I don't have a clue as to revs, power etc. I would imagine they would be slow reving and powerful to move a car seat with someone sitting on it, size is around the size of a 700 motor (I don't have one to hand for the details on the casing) the drive shaft is approx. 3mm. Help appreciated I am considering putting one in my MMM Tid when I build it later this year.
      Cheers,
          Peter. :-))

Those motors are made for short term use.

I tried to use them, but they had shitty   poor  bearings and got pretty hot after 10mins without load.
Mine were around 3000 rpm.

Try to run them without load, if they get hot after a few minutes throw them away.
