Some absolutely amazing images that their builders must be proud of

On question....HM Warspite ...I don't think Mr Voss is a member here......she is depicted as post repairs in 1942 from the US......

In the images he is depicted with a great number of her Ratings in Karki coloured dress or uniforms...??

Was this normal dress wear for battle?...........but still a brilliant model....

The actual image is in .....Reply #133 on: Yesterday at 09:11:48 PM »

Derek

I think at the time Warspite was operating in the Indian Ocean so maybe Kharki is right for the sailors. I've seen pictures off her refuelling in this camflague scheme saying that they were moored off Ceylon.

A BIG Thank you to all who have posted photos.
We have nothing like the boat shows you do in UK so it is fascinating to see different types of models and the incredible standards that can be reached.

Thanks for the try, Corposant, but that's a Fairmile D. I'm trying to make a Fairmile C built to inaccurate plans look a bit more like the real thing, and some detail shots would help.

Hi Everyone,
Can I thank everyone who took part in the on pool demonstrations at the show. We managed to keep the visitors and exhibitors entertained throughout the three days and provided a real mix of things that float and hover! I'm sure you all had your favourites but there is no question that the rowing models were just delightful ...... a huge thank you to Mike Shepherd and Jason Quayle.
Kicking off my 'Speciality Slot' with five Ferries worked really well and was a very different start. It was a bit of a shame that Chris Scott's, James Bond 'Q' boat went into ESC meltdown on Friday but our hero will return.
Can I also thank our invited Non-Club entries. The two special display areas had a real mix of models and received a lot of positive comments. I wanted a real eclectic mix and that's what we got.
Thanks to everyone that's posted pictures on the Forum. The images & videos really capture the show very well.
Now I'm going to throw down the gauntlet . The Manx Club very deservedly won the Best Club Display for the third year in a row and therefore can't win it in 2016. So the trophy is up for grabs. So come on Clubs, it's time to pull out the stops and mount your best ever display.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the show.
Cheers
Steve (Pool Master).

Great show as usual. Shame I could only make the Saturday. Normally I'll come for the 3 days.
But for personal circumstances  I couldn't attend all of it this year.
So this year was a 6 hour drive up. Few hours at the show. And 6 hours back
But well worth it
Defiantly 3 days next year !!

Hello everyone,
I've been asked to post a great big THANK YOU to all those that visited the Manx Model Boat stand at the show and to those Clubs and associations that voted them tops again.  It's a long journey across and down, especially as we have to start out the Wednesday before and not return till the Monday following. We won't mention costs, 5 nights full board and lodging etc, nor vehicle hire and fuel. We just enjoy the show, so save hard the rest of the year.  Thanks too, to Martin and your many photographs and videos and to everyone else posting images. When we have some loaded I'll post a link to them as well.
I'll see you at the show next year.
Happy sailing, Kim

Via Email to Mayhem...

The annual International Model Boat Show, widely regarded as one of the UK Leading Marine Modelling Exhibitions, took place from the 6th to 8th November at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre and celebrated its 18th successful year.

Visitors were treated to a packed hall with over 600 fantastic models from the 30 club and society displays. The excellent and varied display of models from early warships to modern power boats and ships was complemented by action on the large boating pool.  Twenty one specialist suppliers were also present offering visitors everything they could need for their builds.

The Marine Modelling International Society Shield for Best Society/Club Display, as voted for by the clubs themselves, was awarded for the third year running to Manx Model Boat Club who travelled from the Isle of Man to be at the event.  In 2nd place was the King Lear Model Boat Club and in 3rd place the Lifeboat Enthusiasts’ Society.  The challenge is on for the 2016 award now!

The introduction of Steve’s Top 10 loan models was certainly well received by the visitors and exhibitors who enjoyed the variety of models in this special section. The organisers are already looking to presenting another selection at the 2016 exhibition so if you have a model which you would like to be considered please contact the organisers at info@meridienneexhibitions.co.uk .

Avril Spence the Exhibition Manager said “We had another successful and enjoyable show for all of our visitors and exhibitors.  We would like to thank the Clubs and Societies who brought along a fabulous selection of models and worked really hard to organise their displays and made the show so successful.  Our thanks are also extended to our Pool Master Steve Dean and his individual exhibitors who displayed a wonderful varied range of unique and interesting models.  Our thanks also to the specialist suppliers who joined us”

The next major event for marine modellers in is the London Model Engineering Exhibition which takes place at Alexandra Palace from the 15th to 17th January 2016 which will have a vast range of models on display across the spectrum including marine vessels.  See www.londonmodelengineering.co.uk for further details.

Next year’s International Model Boat Show will take place from 11th to 13th November 2016 again at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.  See www.modelboatshow.co.uk for further details.
