pulleys
« on: February 09, 2015, 05:03:58 pm »

Can anyone tell me where I can get some double sheave ,brass working pulleys 10-12 mm o/a length ( not the self assembly one). I have tried everywhere, RB in Poland(PART No. 06360) , Robbe, etc. I have people in America , Germany and South Africa, looking for me. There seems to be a world shortage at the moment ??.

               Thanks  Andy

When I had the Unimat lathe I would have done hammer. Nowadays I buy what I can. Having said that I have just waited 20 days for a 75mm length of round brass rod to be delivered to make up a couple of prop shaft bearings. I just love the Spanish post office!

During the wait for it I actually made a couple by the innovative  measure of cutting two mild steel set screws and drilling out the centre to the correct diameter!

Take the brass spindle out of an old tap ( Im an Ex Plumber ) or buy a Ball Valve it has a brass arm about 250mm, again a plumbing fitting.

Hi Brian I may be a bit late but if you look up a company in Poland they make all sorts of high quality boat bits as well a wealth of other model bits . They are made to a very high standard, a lot of the U/K model shops are selling the same ones I believe imported from this company. Their Email address is rbmodel@rbmodel.com & if you look up RB Model on the net that will find them too. Mick B.

Hi Andy, if you put up a drawing  & some measurements I may have some, depending on size & the number you require. Mick B.
