Not a disaster in that the model did not sink but............... one of my grandsons and I have been building a small rescue boat powered by a small brushless motor and I took it for a test run today to check it out prior to paint and detail. Upshot was that it performed well but developed at least one water leak. Now busy drying out the electrics.
Have traced the leaks back to water ingress into the stuffing tube and also a leak at the base of the rudder tube. I left it floating in a tank to test for leaks prior to running it and saw no leaks. It also has a slight bow down attitude so I need to shift the CG back some and also need to shift the weight around to compensate for the torque of the outrunner.
Glad I found the rudder tube leak prior to adding railings and paint!
Ah well - such is life.
