Have you tried eBay? I've just bought a couple of magazines, both from '65...just check that the plans are in the mags though.

Thanks so far! Rich my first port of call was Ebay, Pre Loved etc and they either want silly money and don't have May 1965 with the plan, Frank the link you sent is blank, however I seem to recall this site they show the covers but if you go down page you will see it says there are no sellers selling these at present. Ideally if someone has these magazines just scan in pages and email or photocopy and snail mail. Happy to cover your costs etc.

Many thanks again

Would there be any interest of a build blog on this? Well over half way through the build now. Can anyone suggest a brushless motor for this?

A member of King Lear Model Boat Club has recently built a brushless Suzie Q that goes well, see photograph below,
more photographs and videos of the model in action can be found on the KLMBC Facebook page (way down the page).
The builder of the model goes by the name of Mike Klmbc on Facebook - hope this may be of interest,
unfortunately I don't think he is on Mayhem at present.

Hi Andy,
Here is a link to the video on Facebook -
https://www.icloud.com/photostream/#A4JtdOXmJHzlef;CE84B05B-8521-4818-863B-0344462F752B

Apparently the King Lear Model Boat Club page on Facebook is a 'group' - should that mean anything to you in Facebook terms, I am new to FB myself and know nothing about the technicalities etc.

Also you need to get in touch with Mike re what his power set up is, I have not seen the model in the flesh,
the only thing I do know is it's brushless outrunner powered.

regards Paul

Hi Paul

Finally managed to find the King Lear facebook page, it is here https://www.facebook.com/groups/1029519293744682/ they didn't make it easy to find by calling themselves King Lear MBC. Unfortunately it is a closed group which I suspect is for members only so I wont be able to view it  :((

Thanks for the links Martin you might want to look at this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epBo6uu9avw as well, I did try and ask the manufacturer which motor setup, cells, prop, speed controller they were using but unfortunately they came back with discontinued motors etc.

I will be posting a build log of this, however want to get running gear sorted. Ideally want to go down brushless route!

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,

Indeed, the mag scans and plans if possible. Susie-Q looks like a very nice and classy boat, and I just might want to build it (time permit)
