Action P44
« on: March 01, 2015, 02:16:30 am »

Hi I am thinking of using a Action P44 as a motor drive with Micro Switches. Would it be possible for me to use 2 x 1600 Mah micro motors with this item. The idea is that I want to move 2 parts at the same time so both motors would be wired into the same outlets.

Thanks in advance John [MK1]

Answer on page two - http://www.action-electronics.co.uk/pdfs/P44A.pdf - the relay contacts can carry 3 amps.  If your two motors together (assuming the one motor diagram but with the two motors in parallel) need more, then the answer is no.  To handle a heavier load, light duty relays can each operate a heavier relay.
1600 Mah is a rating of battery capacity, so I am left a bit uncertain just how this applies to the motors.

Hi it should have read 1600 mA. I seen the 3a limit on each relay but as I don't under stand much about how electrical items work I did not know if I was using one or two of the 3a relays.

Thanks John

John
Microswitches are not required. Follow this link then scroll down to the diagram Limit Switches. The circuit you need is the top one. http://www.action-electronics.co.uk/wd.php

Hi, 1600 Milliamperes = 1.6 amps.

The units relay contacts are rated at 3A (3000mA), so two 1.6A motors in parallel will be just over the limit at 3.2A, and the contacts will have a shortened life.
