Playing With Titles
« on: March 03, 2015, 11:41:38 am »

A topic title for any thread is set by the title first given to it.  'Subject' is blank so you fill it in.
However, no one seems to edit it as the thread goes on, although to do so can sometimes be useful.
I have a long standing thread, starting with the ships name.  I often change the end of the title to reflect something new I am doing in the build, whilst always keeping the beginning part for continuity.
Am I the only one?

The whole topic / thread title can only be changed be retitling the first post.... which can only be done my mods.
If you want a subject name changed , use 'Report to Moderator'.

I do it from time to time, look for "Topic Renamed."

I fully understand Martin, and hope I'm not breaking the House Rules.
But when a very long running thread approaches #490 I was just trying to 'bookmark' stages of progress made, whilst still keeping the essential recognisable title prefix constant.
I am happy with my original topic title  O0

Just wondered if anyone realised that titles were editable, although for that reply only.

But you have to use the Preview/advanced edit window (with the smilies, etc) to get the option. The quick reply doesn't have it.

You can re-title any post you wish but the tread title reverts back to the 1st post.

Whilst we are on the questions and answers,
Why are all users on line in blue except for Crusher who is in black?
