Distance to edge being far more critical than pitch.  :-))

I swear by my B&D Minicraft drill. I have the big transformer to power it so I can vary the speeds from idle to whizzy (technical term:O). I have had it for eighteen years and it has drilled thousands of holes, allowed me to turn hundreds of gun barrels and probably the same number of road wheels for lorries and tanks. Indeed, the top edge of the collet housing is rounded from years of abrasion from files and abrasives etc.

The Dremel IMHO is too fast at its lowest speed for any detail work.

So, I would reccomend a minicraft drill and proper transformer. It is not hugely heavy and will do what you ask of it. I recall Squires having some Minicraft tools in their shop a few months back so it may be worth investigating Bob.
