Mooring Tug from Germany
« on: March 08, 2015, 07:42:29 pm »

Afternoon Gents ~

It's time to build a model of a Mooring Tug !

I have wanted to do this one for years, and now finally a kit has been Masterfully produced by a German model manufacturer, Mr. Sievers:

http://www.modellbau-sievers.de/Baukaesten%20Uebersicht/Baukaesten/Mooring.html

He does fine work, the kit is well organized, shipped well.

The hull comes with a stuffing tube liner integrated in the hull ( common now in hulls coming from Europe, see the Opduwer build ).

First steps are the least fun, all the nasty glass work of opening the mooring eyes and wash ports in the hull.

After that, sand smooth the inner walls that will be visible above the deck line ( the nastiest part ) ...

Our outdoor "Project Manager" Cat can be seen working Very hard (  ok2 ).

Missed the original post but seeing it now, that grp hull is the best quality I have ever seen. The completed build looks great.

She's a tidy model Tim. I reckon you will score some good points in a steering competition using that one.
