Springtime!
« on: March 20, 2015, 09:43:27 pm »

Spring arrives today (20 April) in the Northern Hemisphere.

Here are two views at my place...

That's the front entrance to our building to the right. Our deck is next to it, just behind that 'mountain'!

Here's the view in the opposite direction. Notice the automobile roofs just barely visible.

Tomorrow the rain arrives. Once the rain starts, it might not stop until June...

The pictures didn't make it, but i got the first signs of spring here - last night, walking round the lake I passed between two bushes and a cloud of midges, this afternoon I spotted the first of this years ducklings.  Eleven of them.  I don't know how many will survive, there was a seagull perched on a shed roof, eyeing them up.

Potatoes are planted so the equinox must have passed.

Last night out on the line it dropped to -2, not much fun supervising a double wheel change!
Had ice on the windscreen of my car, I think spring might take a little longer this year to make up for all those years when it arrived early! %)

I spent most of my time in the RN from 21 as a

I had to learn how to be boss and mate at the same time.
Job done easier with an extra pair of hands
The lads love a boss that gets his hands dirty :-))
