Thames Class Lifeboat 50-001
« on: March 11, 2015, 09:42:45 pm »

I'm from the Thames Class Lifeboat Trust a charity based in Lowestoft, We are trying to raise funds to save historic lifeboat 50-001 "Rotary Service" built in Lowestoft in 1973. stationed at Falmouth and Dover, before being sold out of service.

Some of you may recognise the vessel as it has recently been built by gribeauval, now owned by Rottweiler and currently being built by myself in 1/12th also.
We are working to purchase the vessel and return it to Lowestoft, where it will be put back into action as a Youth Training vessel. Teaching young and disadvantaged individuals in maritime skills, enabling them the chance to potentially gain employment in the Offshore wind industry. Like many historic vessels we've got a crowd funding page running at the moment, if anyone is able to help us to make a positive impact in young peoples lives, in a relatively poor area we'd really appreciate any and all support.
